Formed by Nate Ruess and Sam Means in 2002, Interventions And Lullabies is the debut album of The Format. Wanting to escape their punk roots, Nate and Sam started writing songs in secret that stepped outside of a single genre or style. Eventually, they released their first EP and were signed to Elektra records. Unfortunately, The Format didn't receive the attention they deserved after Elektra was absorbed by Warner Bros. and Atlantic.
This album captures the early developments of Nate Ruess who eventually formed Fun.
